What is Lumecca?
Lumecca is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. After just one use, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis, which provides a photofacial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment. In just 1 – 3 sessions, Lumecca improves the appearance of:
- Age spots (red/brown pigmentations)

What areas can be treated?
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun: face, neck, chest/decolletage, legs, hand and arms.

What should I expect from Lumecca treatments?
Lumecca does not cause any downtime for most patients. During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the Lumecca that feels like a light elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of the pigmented spots; in the week afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone. After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

What to expect during a LaseMD treatment: During the treatment, you will feel some heat and tingling, afterward you may feel like you have a slight sunburn. Two to three days after treatment, your skin may feel dry and have a sandpaper like texture. This is considered minimal “aesthetic” downtime and is not visually noticeable but will resolve about 7 days post treatment.

What is Forma?

What is the difference in Forma and Forma Plus?
Forma and Forma Plus are both designed to treat lax, sagging skin. Forma, however, is used to treat small treatment areas on the face, while Forma Plus is used to address larger areas on the body, such as ‘bat wings’ on the arms, excess skin on the abdomen and sagging skin above and around the knees.* Forma Plus is especially helpful to people with sagging skin caused by significant weight loss.*
What should I expect from Forma treatments?
Forma and Forma Plus are completely painless, in-office procedures, though some patients may notice a tightening or heating sensation during treatment. Most people require between 6 and 8 sessions to achieve desired results, with the most treatments reserved for those with more challenging treatment areas. Forma and Forma Plus do not have any associated downtime, leaving patients free to resume any activity after their appointments. Patients say the procedures feels like a nice hot stone massage. As mentioned above, multiple sessions are required for the best results, however you should expect your progress to improve with each visit. Forma is not a permanent solution to sagging skin, however a maintenance program will help maintain your results long-term. You can expect to start seeing results immediately, although the skin will continue to improve for several months following treatment.
